Nirmala, the 18 year old girl from Blue Rose School has won the first place of the Sri Lankan Special-Olympics, and has now the opportunity to join a team of 15 other children to the World-Special-Olympics in Greece from the 19th of June until the 5th of July 2011.
Even though it was originally announced that all expenses would be met by the government - now it seems that they are going provide only food and accomodation and she has been asked to find sponsors for her travel. She is from a very poor family and is unable to raise this money which is in the region of 1000 euro.
